AGNITIO is delighted with the announcement of International Biometric Group’s first-ever 1: N voice biometric technology assessment. As reported in IBG Comparative Biometric Testing Round 7, this is the largest 1: N text-independent voice biometric technology evaluation ever conducted, encompassing nearly 2,000 speakers.
“Results from IBG’s evaluation of AGNITIO’s ASIS product illustrate the viability of voice biometrics as a real-world identification technology”, said Michael Thieme, IBG’s Director of Special Projects.
"Overall, we are very pleased to see that the independent tests performed by IBG comprehensively reflects what we have seen in real life: the use of AGNITIO’s 1:N text-independent voice biometric identification technology can be invaluable for creating target lists when the primary evidence available is a voice sample, a challenge that otherwise could not be solved using traditional investigatory techniques" – Emilio Martinez, CEO – AGNITIO
To put the conclusions of these tests into real world terms – when creating five-candidate hot lists from a field of nearly 2,000 voices, the system correctly placed the target in these hot lists 98% of the time with just 15 seconds of audio. These results are aligned with our internal benchmarks as well as what our customers have seen in real world examples.
The evaluation used different real-world conditions, for example: varying the length of the individuals’ voice recordings or imposing cross-channel conditions where microphone and telephone recordings were used. This is traditionally how AGNITIO’s Automatic Speaker Identification System (ASIS) product is deployed in real life law enforcement agency environments. The results show clearly that when varying the conditions from lab-optimal scenarios, the technology easily handles these situations with a minimum of performance impact.
