News: Onondaga County DSS awards Home Health Verification contract to Medical Management Technology Group, Inc. of Troy NY. MMTG to implement its voice biometric system.

In an effort to battle fraud and wrongful billing for home health care services provided through Medicaid and Medicare programs, MMTG has built a service called Medify™ Home Health Verification. This service aims to streamline the flow of information from service delivery to billing and payment of these services. Medify™ Home Health Verification helps identify ghost billing and bills sent out for services that were never rendered.

One of the validity checks in the Medify process is a phone check-in and check-out process for home-health personnel that include a speaker verification component. Check-in and check-out are performed when home-health personnel go onsite to provide services. The voice biometrics capability in Medify™ is powered by KIVOX, a voice biometrics product from Agnitio.

Onondaga County is the first county in New York State to have signed a contract with MMTG for the provisioning of Medify™ Home Health Verification. The first implementation of the service has been rolled out to its first users in January of 2009.
